 French Club

The French Club is a fun organization for students who are interested in the French language and culture. We have several activities throughout the year such as: dinners & brunches out at local French restaurants, French movie day where we stay after school and watch a French movie - with popcorn, drinks, and candy - just like at the movies, and Mardi Gras Celebration with food & games.

UPCOMING FRENCH CLUB MEETINGS FOR 2009 - 2010 SCHOOL YEAR:

French Club Meeting - Thursday, October 29 - Regular French Club meeting to plan for next week's Crepe Day!  Mrs. Sorsby will bring the batter & the crepe maker - French club members need to sign up for dessert fillings like:  nutella, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, chocolate syrup, fudge, nuts, whipped cream, etc.  Whatever sounds good to you!

We'll also need lots of paper plates, napkins, forks & spoons.

French Club Crepe Day - Thursday, November 5th - Remember to bring the dessert fillings you signed up to bring.  Our crepes depend on you.  Feel free to bring things earlier in the week and leave them with Mrs. Sorsby.

T-shirts will be $16.00. Bring cash (try to bring exact change!) or check made out to Stratford High school.  Give to Melissa at the French Club meeting.  We'll be taking orders through November 6th!

Bring your dues money - $5.00 - to the meeting Thursday!

You do not need to be in a French class to be in French club.  All you need is a curiosity for the French language and culture and like to eat and socialize with other people that enjoy the language and culture as well.

Here are some activities that have been done during previous years:

*Watch movies in Rm 109 after school or Movie Night at a member's home on a weekend night.

*Week-day dinner or Weekend lunch get-togethers at La Madeleine Town and Country.

*Mardi Gras Celebrations.

*Trip to local museums when French exhibits come through.

 When and where you ask?

Meetings are held after school.  Please look for flyers with the French teachers and check your email for upcoming meeting info. If you have questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Sorsby or Ms. Aurich.
