Suzanne Thompson, BAND

Suzanne Thompson is the Associate Band Director at Stratford High School. Before coming to Stratford HS, Mrs. Thompson taught for three years at Chisholm Trail MS in Round Rock, TX and two years at Pearland JH South in Pearland, TX. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Sam Houston State University in 2002. At SHSU, Mrs. Thompson was principal horn of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, horn section leader in the Bearkat Marching Band, and a member of the horn choir, jazz ensemble, and various chamber music ensembles. Mrs. Thompson received a Master of Music Education degree from Florida State University in April 2006. She was an active horn player in many University ensembles including the Wind Orchestra, University Symphony Orchestra, Marching Chiefs, and Horn Choir. She also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching Brass Techniques and conducting various FSU Bands. Mrs. Thompson is an avid DCI fan and performed with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps in 1997, 1998, and 1999. Mrs. Thompson is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity for Women. In her free time, Mrs. Thompson enjoys watching college football (Go Noles Go!!!) with her husband, Christopher.

Charms Office Assistant:

All students that are enrolled in Band and Color Guard need to keep their student information up to date on the Charm Office Assistant website.  We use Charms to send mass e-mails, post handouts, post calendars, and much more.  We even use Charms to take attendance for all Marching Band rehearsals and performances.  Visit the Stratford Band website to find out more information on how to log-in to Charms and update your information.

 

Smart Music:

All students that play a woodwind or brass instrument are required to subscribe to SmartMusic.  Several playing tests and playing assignments are submitted through SmartMusic each six weeks.  Please visit the Stratford Band website for more information about SmartMusic subscriptions.
