About Me

  • This is my first year to teach at Stratford.  For the past two years, I have taught language arts at Spring Forest Middle School, and previously, I taught Composition I and II at  Houston Community College for five years.  I have my B.A. in English and Philosophy from UT-Austin and my M.A. in English from The University of Michigan.

Any in-class assignments that are missed due to excused absences can be made up during my tutorial times or Thursday after school with the appointed English teacher (teachers are on a rotating schedule for department make-ups, so please check with me first).  Out-of-class assignments are due one class period (per the number of my classes missed) upon returning from an excused absence.

My tutorials are Mondays and Wednesdays after school until 4:00 or by appointment.

 

 

Juniors and Seniors:  Register for Edmodo (if you don't already have an account) and join your class period's group (see below for codes).  You can do this in class or on your own.

Seniors:

  •  All out-of-class writing assignments must be submitted on turnitin.com. Turnitin.com has to be accessed through the district webpage.  Click on Eductional Technology, and then click on Learning Resources in the blue box on the left side of the screen.  Scroll down and choose "turnitin.com."  Students will need to log in with their school username and password.  Then they will select their class:

  • Students will upload their word document or pdf unto turnitin.com.

  • 5/17:  Completed study guide for The Great Gatsby (major test grade) with 10 extra credit points added--or students may submit the completed study guide on Tuesday, 5/21, for full credit but no extra credit points. Study guides submitted after the 21st are considered late.
  • 5/21:  Character analysis or Color Imagery analysis essay of The Great Gatsby due in paper and on turnitin.com.
  • 5/30:  college essay due and extra credit project
  • 6/3:  Final Exam for 2nd and 4th periods.
