The students at SHS selected the students that will represent SHS at Homecoming this year.  The six boys and six girls that were selected were all screened by Mr. Gex, senior principal, for grades, attendance, and behavior.  All 12 of these young people passed this screening for the current school year.  I have had people come to me and voice concerns that some of these students may have had an issue in the past.  As long as I am Principal of this school, students will be given the opportunity to grow and mature in all aspects of student life.  The Homecoming Court of the school are selected by the students of SHS.  If a student or students on this court do not fit someones stereotypical idea of what the representatives should be, that is a shame.  We will celebrate our Homecoming in two weeks.  The events leading up to that game and dance will be a celebration of all things Stratford - FOR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS.  I will not accept, nor will I listen to, any more slanderous or misinformed individuals that feel a need to "set me straight" on the issue.  The kids picked these representatives and I will support their decision.  Doing the right thing isn't always easy, but it never stops being the right thing.
