Our Homecoming game on Friday night was packed and our Spartans defeated Spring Woods by a score of 38 - 6. We also had a wonderful crowning ceremony for this year's queen - Sarah Bowman. The following evening, we converged on SHS's competition gym for the Homecoming Dance. The theme was aliens this year - and the dance was out of this world. The students packed the gym and they seemed to have a great time. We crowned our king- Bahrom Firozgary, who may well be the tallest king that SHS has ever had! The dance ended and students went off in various directions to enjoy a variety of after prom functions. We were very pleased with our students and their ability to make good choices during the Homecoming weekend was a source of pride that I shared with them this morning. On Friday, we will be allowing students to wear Halloween costumes (as long as they are within published guidelines) or dress up for the Friday pep rally which is "nerd" themed. We are asking all students who wear any costume or outfit to bring two canned food items as we will be attmepting to "scare up food for the foodbank." This type of activity allows our students to enjoy the activities going on at school and still give back to their local community. Please support your child in these efforts.
