About Me

I have now completed my 26th year in education.  I spent 10 years as a classroom teacher and coach, ten years as an assistant principal and now have completed my sixth year as the Building Principal of Stratford.  I received my B.A. from Michigan State University and my M.Ed. from Sam Houston State University.  Being the Principal of a school like Stratford is the best job I could have ever hoped for.  The culture of our campus is so special and so positive that it makes coming to work each day incredible.  I work hard each day to make this campus the best possible place it can be for our students and our staff.  Check out the lip dub we made last year to see the various clubs and organizations our students are involved in.  We are Stratford America.

Newly released!  The new Stratford High School App for your Apple and Android devices is here.  How do I get it?

Spartan Community,

It is here!  It is the last day of school.  Our seniors have graduated and our under-classmen are finishing up their finals today.  On that note, if your student missed a final due to illness or other absence reason, they have two weeks to make up their final with no grade penalty.  Please contact the Registrar's office and we will schedule a date and time for your student to make up their final.  Your child's teacher provides us with a copy of the final and a key to grade it and we can take care of the test administration.  Please make this a priority so we can get their grade finalized.

We are also signing up students for both traditional summer school and EOC remediation for any tests that were not passed.  Traditional summer school will be at Memorial High School.  Our EOC remediation will occur for SHS students on the SHS campus, and our teachers will be delivering the instruction.  Counselors are present on campus in our library signing up students for both types of summer school and they can make reccomendations on how best to help your student.

Now we move into summer vacation.  It has been an excellent year and very successful.  Time to enjoy some less stressful days and enjoy family time.  I know our staff have worked hard and they are ready for some days to not worry about grading, lesson plans and getting up early.  Our students have worked hard and I hope that this summer you get to enjoy some family time with your kids.  Every year our senior parents share with me how fast the four years of high school go by and offer the advice of enjoying every minute before they graduate and head out on their own.  I am experiencing this as a parent and my oldest child's first two years of high school have flown by.  I encourage you to spend some quality time this summer and enjoy that young adult you are raising.  Whether you are heading out on vacation, sending your kids to camp or just spending the summer at home on a "staycation," I wish you safe travels, happiness and a feeling of joy in a job well done.

Have a wonderful summer!
